Antigua's first large sugar plantation (1650), owned by the Codrington family from 1674 to 1944, now an open-air museum with a restored working windmill, the twin mill towers, boiling house and still house, telling the story of the enslaved people who worked it.
Practical
Managed by the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda; restoration ran from 1990 to 1995 and there is a visitor centre (Wikipedia). Inland near Pares, south of Parham: taxi from Parham Harbour, Nonsuch Bay or St John's. Check opening hours with the museum.
