Barbuda Kite & Wing-Foil Spots
17° 38.7′ N · 61° 51.2′ W · approximate
Steady trades, flat water inside the reefs and miles of empty beach make Barbuda a growing kite, wing and foil destination. Riders use Low Bay, Princess Diana Beach and Gravenor Bay.
Practical
Coordinate approx: set at the Low Bay beach in front of the Low Bay Anchorage. Barbudaful says Low Bay is better for kites, and the north-west Atlantic side is great once you find a way through the reef but not for beginners. Noforeignland reviewers use Princess Diana Beach for kiting and Gravenor Bay for wing-foiling. Palmetto Point gets big surf at times. There is no rescue boat or kite school: ride with a buddy and a dinghy on standby. Aggressive dogs were reported in 2021 near the Lighthouse Bay ruins, where kiters land.
Best for
Self-sufficient kiting and wing-foiling
