Kaimana Beach and Sans Souci Reef
21° 15.8′ N · 157° 49.3′ W · approximate
A small, calm swimming beach at the Diamond Head end of Waikiki beside the 1927 Natatorium war memorial, with a shallow reef that is an easy first snorkel for new crew.
Practical
Approx position from OpenStreetMap. GoHawaii describes Sans Souci as a calm beach near Waikiki for exploring. The Waikiki War Memorial Natatorium (1927) stands just Ewa of the beach. The beach falls inside the Waikiki-Diamond Head Shoreline Fisheries Management Area (alternate-year fishing closures; no coral take) and inside the 0.4-mile Waikiki Shore Water Restricted Zone, so come by land or walk from Ala Wai, not by tender.
Best for
Easy snorkel and swim at Waikiki's quieter end
