Lakka Village

39° 14.1′ N · 20° 8.1′ E

A lively little Venetian-era village around the bay, with bars right on the water, tavernas in the lanes behind, a good bakery and shops selling local produce. Fanis Bar's terrace on the bay is the sundowner spot.

Practical

Coordinate is Lakka village (OSM). Boote's charter-guide author recommends Fanis Bar for a sundowner and Stasinos Garden for dinner. mySea lists Stasinos Garden (+30 26620 31924; season from 1 May), Akis Fish Bar for fresh fish over the bay (book a sea-view table in high season), La Rosa (+30 26620 31471), La Bocca d'Oro pizzeria and beach bar, and the simple O Diogenis. Sights within a short walk: the church of Ypapanti (1601, the only double-domed Byzantine-style church on Paxos, at Grammatikeika), and the 'Ellinospito' ruin where islanders sheltered from pirates. Orkos, Harami and Kanoni beaches are on foot from the village.
