Volos Tsipouradika (Argonafton Waterfront)
39° 21.6′ N · 22° 56.8′ E · approximate
Volos' signature: tsipouradika, where you order small bottles of tsipouro (an ouzo-like spirit with less aniseed) and plate after plate of seafood meze arrives unasked. They say no two plates are ever the same.
Practical
Sail Aegean recommends Lepi (Argonafton Ave 23, +30 2421 022206) and Tsipouradiko Dionysis (Argonafton Ave 3, +30 2421 022205), right by the yachts. Also recommended: Me Zen, a modern take (Alonnisou 8, +30 2421 020844); Stafylos for Greek cuisine (Melounas 6); and Veggera (Feron 39). The Xenia Domotel rooftop bar at the Yacht Club is good for a drink. Locals order only the tsipouro and let the meze come; ask whether seafood is fresh or frozen. The position is approximate, on the Argonafton waterfront.
