Platis Gialos (Lipsi)
37° 18.8′ N · 26° 44.4′ E
A shallow, sandy, turquoise bay on Lipsi's north-west with a single taverna — one of the island's prettiest beaches.
Practical
Good protection from the prevailing NW. Inner bay under 3 m — swing just inside it; sand and pebbles, good holding, no swell. Outer bay takes up to a dozen yachts, mostly swinging; med-mooring to the rocks is common (attach stern lines to the north side). Caiques land beachgoers on a concrete slab; loud motorbikes on the road at night (Sailing Issues). Restaurant 'Platis Gialos' ashore (OSM). Bus from town in summer.
Best for
Turquoise-water swim and lunch
Season
Jun–Sep (meltemi months); best May–Jun and Sep
