Anchorage· Lipsi· Greece — Dodecanese, Sporades & North Aegean
Moschato Bay (Lipsi)
37° 19.3′ N · 26° 43.4′ E
Four deep, narrow inlets cutting into Lipsi's north-west corner, linked by a donkey trail — wild, lovely and only for settled weather.
Practical
Protects against everything except the common NW (Sailing Issues). First and second inlets: loveliest but most exposed; lines to both shores, anchor bow-in or out; only when the wind has no strong north component (second inlet best for children). Third inlet (Vroulia) is off limits — a dolphin sanctuary run by the Aegean Marine Life Sanctuary. Fourth inlet: fishing port under 2 m with a steep approach; avoid discarded buoys and fish-farm rubbish; take a line to the NW shore outside. Each usable inlet fits 2–3 yachts; not practical overnight in strong northerlies. Coordinate is the fishing port (Sailing Issues). The church of Agios Theologos tou Moschatou is 17th-century (Wikivoyage).
