Kimissi Path & Fountani Springs (Lipsi)

37° 18.1′ N · 26° 43.7′ E

A 960 m paved path cut into the hillside links upper and lower Kimissi on Lipsi's west coast, near the springs of Fountani (Pikri Nero) and the Dormition church that guards the relics of monks killed under Ottoman rule.

Practical

Coordinate is the upper Kimissi chapel (OSM). The church of the Kimissis tis Theotokou overlooks the bay of the same name (Wikivoyage). Greeka recommends Lipsi's old footpaths in spring and autumn — summer hikes are hot.

Best for

A shore walk off the beaten track
