Peristeri Anchorage (Peristera)

39° 10.3′ N · 23° 58.1′ E

The default anchorage of Peristera (locally Xero), the long, dry island sheltering Alonissos' east coast — the best meltemi protection on the island.

Practical

Anchor in 3–5 m to avoid the weed fields; take a line ashore in northerlies. Gusts from NE–ENE and some swell; deep close to shore; a few holiday homes (Sailing Issues). Helm's itinerary rates Peristera's southern bay well sheltered for an overnight, 14 nm from Skopelos and 5 nm from Steni Vala. Zone B of the park — no ticket needed.

Best for

Overnight meltemi shelter opposite Alonissos

Season
