Papa Nero Beach (Agios Ioannis)

39° 24.6′ N · 23° 10.1′ E

A long white-sand beach with azure water just south of Agios Ioannis, reached over a footbridge across the river. It is quieter than the resort front, with guesthouses, a couple of cafés and a campsite at one end.

Practical

The position is the OpenStreetMap Papa Nero beach way. Greeka says it 'gets quite crowded' in summer and mentions beach facilities without listing them. Heather on her Travels describes it as a broad sandy stretch lined with holiday homes, with a couple of cafés and a campsite at one end. Damouchari is a walk over the headland to the south. No anchoring data was found: if you come by boat, lie off Agios Ioannis in settled weather and land by dinghy away from swimmers. The coast is open to NE winds and swell.

Best for

A sandy swim and a café lunch next to Agios Ioannis

Season
