Ladiko Bay (Rhodes)
36° 19.2′ N · 28° 12.4′ E
The quieter twin of Anthony Quinn Bay, across the low isthmus of Cape Ladiko. It is sheltered from SW to ENE, which makes it the better choice in northerlies.
Practical
Sailing Issues: a shallow reef, minimum depth 1.2 m, sits in the middle of the entrance; the western approach is wider and deeper (mySea: stay closer to the W entrance). Anchor in about 4 m; closer in there is less sand and more rock. A rocky outcrop and shoal on the east side is ideal for a shore line. Grecosailor suggests 5–6 m on the light sand in the middle and warns of a cluster of boulders just off the beach; 'fairly well protected'. Tavernas ashore. The tiny cove to the south is mostly rock and needs a trip line and a shore line.
Best for
Calm night in northerlies next to Anthony Quinn Bay
Season
Good in N–NE; shelter SW through ENE
