Anchorage· Symi· Greece — Dodecanese, Sporades & North Aegean
Agia Marina (Symi)
36° 37.4′ N · 27° 52.3′ E
A turquoise bay behind a tiny chapel islet between Symi harbour and Pedi, with outstanding meltemi shelter and a sandy bottom.
Practical
Enter only from the south: a reef with a rock awash joins the islet to Symi's north coast (Sailing Issues; mySea). Anchor in 3.5–5 m over sand with good holding. There is little room to swing, so take a line to the islet. Grecosailor reports 4 m with 60 m of chain, med-moored to the islet. Several concrete landing points along the beach for dinghies. A small seasonal taverna; the chapel of Agia Marina on the islet is used for weddings.
