Monastiri Beach (Anafi)

36° 21.3′ N · 25° 49.5′ E · approximate

A long beach of sand and fine pebbles under the Zoodochos Pigi monastery, at the foot of Kalamos, where the road ends and campers settle under the trees.

Practical

Coordinates: OSM maps the beach here as Prasies (Πρασιές), directly behind the Grecosailor 'Paralia Monastiri' anchorage (36.3542 N 25.8229 E); the identification with the beach guides' 'Monastiri' is inferred from that, so precision is approx. Travel.gr: long, sandy with fine pebbles, trees for shade, campers often present. Travelphoto.gr: walkable from Agioi Anargyroi; the road ends at the monastery. No facilities. It is the dinghy landing for the Kalamiotissa climb. Anchor off in sand and seagrass at about 9 m (Grecosailor) and expect wind shifts along the cliff.
