Lionas Bay (Naxos)

37° 8.2′ N · 25° 35.3′ E · approximate

A pebble cove under cliffs on the north-east coast that was once the emery-export port for the mountain village of Koronos. A few rooms and small tavernas line the beach.

Practical

No pilot-book anchoring data was found. Greeka describes a pebbled beach with clear water, dramatic cliffs and a few tavernas. The bay faces east, and the east coast is exposed to the prevailing NE meltemi (sailingissues). So treat it as a calm-weather or westerly lunch stop only, sounding your way in. The position is approximate: plotted about 200 m east of the OSM beach outline (37.13763, 25.58656). Verify on your chart.
