Keros Lee Anchorage

36° 52.7′ N · 25° 39.2′ E

The Y-shaped 'South bay' of Keros: a fair-weather anchorage of total solitude under the island's 432 m mass.

Practical

Fair-weather only, with mediocre holding on rock and sand, so use a trip line. Sudden strong gusts come from N-ENE (sailingissues). Sailingissues suggests taking a second anchor to the tiny beach in the west cove, but landing on Keros is forbidden (Wikipedia), so stay aboard and lie to your own anchors in open water.

Best for

Solitude under Keros in settled weather (no landing)

Season

Settled weather only
