Glaronisi Pillars (Koufonisia)

36° 54.8′ N · 25° 36.3′ E

The low islet of Glaronisi ('seagull islet') between the two Koufonisia, ringed by white rock pillars and dazzling colours. Sailingissues calls the snorkelling spectacular.

Practical

Vulnerable to almost all winds and waves; in calm weather drop anchor with a trip line near the rock pillars on the east shore. It is uncharted, so approach with care (sailingissues). Grecosailor: little wind, but many reefs, a ferry passing very close and dangerous swell near the rocks. Day stop only.

Best for

Calm-day snorkel among white rock pillars
