Ganema Beach (Serifos)

37° 8.2′ N · 24° 27.7′ E

One of Serifos's biggest beaches, in the east arm of Koutalas bay: half sand, half white pebble, shaded by tamarisks. It doubles as one of the better-holding anchorages on the south coast.

Practical

SailingIssues anchoring: mid-beach in 4-6 m over sand with good holding, but expect sudden NE gusts in the prevailing wind. Ashore there are a beach cafe-restaurant and one higher up (e-serifos), and Grandma's cafe-bar is mapped on OpenStreetMap. SailingIssues recommends Ta Pezoulia taverna, about a 10-minute walk NNE. It advises against the waterfront tavernas, so check current reviews.

Best for

Sand-bottom anchoring and a long swim beach
