Megalo Livadi Loading Bridge Snorkel (Serifos)

37° 8.4′ N · 24° 25.9′ E · approximate

Snorkel around the stone pylon of the rusting iron ore-loading bridge and along the rocks to the miners' 'Loutra' bath rooms, among the most atmospheric industrial relics in the Cyclades.

Practical

e-serifos: the iron loading bridge rests on a masonry pylon in the sea; the Loutra (two stone rooms with lukewarm reddish water) are reached over the rocks or by boat from the bridge. SailingIssues reports a sunken aircraft near the pier and a chain and sunken buoy fouling the bottom, so keep clear of the pier area with the boat and watch for tenders. No guide describes underwater mining debris, so treat it as a shore-side snorkel. Coordinate is approximate: placed in the bay between the anchorage (37.13978 N, 24.43002 E) and the beach tavernas (OSM ~37.1407 N, 24.4318 E); locate the loading bridge visually.
