ZMR de Taimoo (Bora Bora)

16° 28.2′ S · 151° 43.8′ W

Bora Bora's other free-anchoring zone: five boats on a sand shelf at the north-east corner of Hitiaa Bay, off Taimoo, on the way round the top of the island toward the east lagoon.

Practical

Zone TA in arrêté 2442 CM (replaced by 651 CM of 2 June 2020): four points at 16°28.155'S 151°43.830'W, 16°28.260'S 151°43.710'W, 16°28.345'S 151°43.765'W and 16°28.215'S 151°43.910'W. Limited to 5 boats and 36 hours. Coordinate is the polygon centroid. The DPAM annex chart shows the zone on a shallow shelf at the edge of the reef flat, with deep water in Hitiaa Bay to the south-west; reef shoals lie just north and east. Book the night on escales.gov.pf or with DPAM. Two 20–90 m yacht points (Hitiaa 1 and 2) lie in the bay to the west and south. A 2025 cruiser report calls it 'far up north' and impractical for clearing out at Vaitape.
