Temae Beach
17° 29.9′ S · 149° 45.6′ W
A long white-sand public beach near the airport at Moorea's northeast corner, with clear water, a small drift-snorkel channel and views across to Tahiti.
Practical
Reach it with a good dinghy from the Vaiare (Patae) anchorage, but take care crossing Vaiare Pass because of ferry and boat traffic. Amenities include beach volleyball and showers; very popular and lively at weekends. Nice drift snorkel in the small channel. A walking trail starts from the post office on the ring road. The reef off Temae and Pointe Aroa is a PGEM protected marine area (no fishing or collecting).
Best for
Beach day and drift snorkel near Vaiare
