Outer Reef Dive Sites (Tupitipiti)
16° 32.8′ S · 151° 41.5′ W · approximate
The wild south-east outer reef off Tupitipiti point, a dive site cut by caves and rifts, for experienced divers on calm days.
Practical
Tahiti Tourisme describes Tupitipiti as a site with a large number of caves and rifts. Its map pin falls inside the lagoon, so the position here is derived as a point seaward of Tupitipiti point (OSM 'Tupititi' cape) on the south-east outer reef (approx). Boat dive only, with a dive center; exposed to the SE trade swell, so it is often not divable in maraamu conditions (June–August).
Best for
Advanced outer-reef dive
