Bora Bora Yacht Club & Fare Piti Mooring Zone

16° 29.4′ S · 151° 45.7′ W

The traditional cruiser landfall about a nautical mile inside Teavanui Pass: a BBMS mooring field off the Bora Bora Yacht Club at Fare Piti point, with sunsets over the pass and the yacht club bar a short dinghy ride away.

Practical

Zone FP in arrêté 2442 CM: a six-point polygon between 16°29.27'S and 16°29.57'S, 151°45.54'W to 151°45.80'W, for vessels under 20 m. The 2025 DPAM map lists 28 BBMS places. Coordinate is the polygon centroid. Noonsite: well protected from the prevailing east and south winds. Stay is limited to two consecutive nights on these balls (2024 report). The World ARC rally reserves this field in season, so book early. The 20–90 m 'Yacht Club 1' anchoring point lies just west (16°29.243'S 151°45.752'W, 150 m swing radius). Fees: Noonsite (page updated June 2026) gives 6,000 XPF for the first day, or 4,000 XPF per day if you stay two days or more; an August 2024 cruiser report gives a flat 4,000 XPF per night with no volume discount; a May 2025 logbook (59 North) puts it at about US$30 per night. One fee covers any BBMS ball in any field and you can move between fields. Book ahead on WhatsApp +689 89 44 08 88, VHF 9, or dockmaster.bbms@gmail.com, stating crew, boat name and which field you want; then pick up a free ball and the BBMS launch comes by to take payment (cash in XPF) and issue a receipt. Trash is collected from your boat two to three times a week (not Sundays). Balls are reported insured and inspected every six months, but dive your mooring and stay aboard in strong winds. 2025-26 reports describe slow WhatsApp confirmations and occasional confrontational behavior from the attendant; keep your booking messages. Bora Bora Yacht Club (VHF 69) sells a shore pass for its dinghy dock (open 10:30am–10:30pm), showers, Wi-Fi and trash; the fee is credited if you eat at the restaurant (2025). Water, laundry and bike hire extra.
