In June thousands of groupers gather in Tairapa Pass to breed, one of the Tuamotus' great underwater spectacles, alongside the pass's resident mantas.
Practical
Placed at the sea-seek pass position (approximate for the aggregation). Tahiti Tourisme's Manihi diving page notes divers lucky enough to be there in June can watch thousands of groupers migrate to breed. The pass is a regulated fishing zone (ZPR, arrêté 1421 CM of 2017): no fishing the aggregation. Dive it with Blue Way Manihi Dive; snorkel only near slack and keep clear of the old fish pens.
