He'e Tai Inn Restaurant (Rose Corser's, Taiohae)
8° 55.0′ S · 140° 6.5′ W
The pension of Rose Corser, the American cruiser who settled here in the 1970s, on the west side of the bay beside her Marquesan museum; long a casual cruiser hangout with a good burger.
Practical
Coordinate is the OpenStreetMap 'Hee Tei Inn' node (OSM also maps Pension He'e Tai Inn next door). Kandu (2015-16): 'never know when it's open, knock'; the restaurant served an excellent hamburger and hosted a more casual Friday happy hour than the Pearl Lodge, with free wifi. Those reports are about 10 years old: ask at Yacht Services whether meals are still served before walking over. Anchoring is now prohibited on the west side of the bay, so walk or dinghy to the west beach.
Best for
A relaxed burger with a museum next door
