Hakahetau Bay Snorkel
9° 21.4′ S · 140° 6.1′ W · approximate
Clear water along the eastern side of Hakahetau Bay, with plenty of small to medium, very colourful reef fish. Good for snorkelling and freediving straight off the boat.
Practical
Coordinate approximate: the eastern side of the bay. Rhapsody (June 2022) reported the conditions. Visibility drops when swell is running. As everywhere in the Marquesas, ask locals before eating reef fish, because ciguatera is present. Noonsite lists snorkelling and diving along Ua Pou's western coast among the island's activities.
Best for
An easy snorkel from the anchorage
