Fakarava Supply Ship Day (Rotoava quay)
16° 3.3′ S · 145° 37.2′ W · approximate
Wednesday is ship day in Rotoava. The Cobia 3 ties up at the quay, forklifts shuttle pallets, and within hours the shops and produce stand fill with the week's fresh food, briefly.
Practical
Noonsite (2025): the dark-blue-hulled Cobia 3 comes every week on Wednesday (a day late after a Monday holiday). Produce appears within a few hours in the main grocery, the bakery grocery and the fruit and vegetable stand, and is usually gone within about 12 hours. The red Maris Stella IV and the blue Marvel Nui usually carry no fresh produce. The 2025 brief says the atoll is supplied every 7 to 10 days. yacht.de reports the Aranui 5 calling every 2-3 weeks. The ships can sell diesel by the litre or petrol by the drum (2019). Keep the quay clear, and leave some for the locals. The tourism office has arrival dates. Coordinate approx: the Rotoava quay area.
