Apataki Carenage Bar and Meals (on request)

15° 33.5′ S · 146° 14.5′ W · approximate

The Carenage family has offered cruisers a small bar and meals with a day's notice, plus fresh eggs from the family hens: the only chance of a meal ashore on Apataki's SE side.

Practical

Positioned at the yard (approximate). Reports conflict, so ask before counting on it: the OCC (about 2015) said the yard has 'a small bar and restaurant, but you have to give them a day's notice if you want to eat', with fresh eggs from grandma and maybe baguettes; Jacaranda (2016) was told by Pauline there is no restaurant and no food is served, although the website mentioned one; Sugar Shack (2019) found a vegetable garden and eggs for sale. Email apatakicarenageservices@gmail.com or call the yard during working hours to arrange. Otherwise the nearest food is in Niutahi village, across the lagoon by Pakaka Pass.
