Amanu Ice Machine and Power Station Fuel
17° 50.8′ S · 140° 51.2′ W · approximate
The commune runs an ice machine and the diesel power station, the only places on Amanu where a cruiser might find ice or a few litres of fuel.
Practical
The 2019 commune profile lists a communal ice machine and two generators (90 and 64 kVA) running 6am-11pm. Sugar Shack (Dec 2020): there is no fuel service, but the power station, on the road perpendicular to the basin, keeps several 200 L drums. They found no one to ask, and a monohull wanting gasoline was told to wait for the supply ship. Jacaranda (2019): a cruiser got 20 L of gasoline from a shop owner. Ask at the mairie politely and expect a no; arrive with full tanks. Position approximate: on the road leading inland from the basin, from the compendium's description.
