Amanu Gendarmerie Check-in
17° 50.9′ S · 140° 51.2′ W · approximate
Report to the gendarmerie or the mairie when you arrive. It is a courtesy check-in in the mairie building, and a Hao patrol boat has asked yachts to do it.
Practical
The gendarmerie office is upstairs in the mairie, the two-storey white building with a green roof by the harbour (compendium). Ari B (Feb 2021): report on arrival as a courtesy. Luci Para 2 (June 2020): a patrol boat from Hao asked boats to check in at the town hall; bring passports and boat papers. The sources give no direct gendarmerie phone. Contacts: the Hao Gendarmerie (+689 87 79 62 03, compendium) and the Amanu health post (+689 40 97 03 08, 2019 commune profile). Amanu's maire délégué in 2019 was François Takamoana. Amanu is not a port of entry: clear into French Polynesia first, for example at Rikitea. Position approximate: placed in Ikitake village between Passe Fafameru and the Point Koutu Korigo anchorage, derived from the compendium's descriptions; the exact building was not located on a map.
