West Coco Bandero Anchorage (Two Palm Island)

9° 31.1′ N · 78° 38.8′ W

The western end of the Coco Bandero reef, off tiny Two Palm Island, with a small wreck on its outer side and good corals all round.

Practical

Position 09°31.067'N 078°38.838'W, 6 m sand off the end of little Two Palm Island (SY Balvenie 2012). The recommended pocket held three catamarans, leaving little room between the bigger island and the breaking reefs, so they were more exposed and slightly rolly. Very good snorkelling right round the little island, with a small wreck on the outer side and some surge. Charged $10 just as they lifted anchor (2012, verify locally).

Best for

Overflow anchorage and wreck snorkel when Coco Bandero is full
