Turtle Cay Marina (Green Turtle Cay)

A partly built marina at Punta Macolla, east of Isla Grande and about 35 miles west of the San Blas, reached by a short canal; very sheltered once inside but long reported to be falling into disrepair.

Approach position 09°35.98'N 079°26.47'W (Noonsite). Access canal about 10 ft deep; one of two orange guide balls reported missing; the entrance can be challenging in strong easterlies. Fuel, water and laundry reported (Feb 2017). A 2016 cruiser filled water free at the fuel dock (river water, expect algae and a river taste), found the marina empty with no answer on VHF 72, cold-water showers and coin washers, and heavy sand flies and mosquitoes. Status uncertain: confirm it is operating before relying on it. The Aeronaval has been reported present here.
