The small Afro-Caribbean village on Isla Grande has a handful of beachfront restaurants and bars, a small hotel and cabañas, patronised mostly by Panamanian weekenders from Colón and Panama City.

Coordinate approximate: Restaurante La Isla in OpenStreetMap (node 10296219232); the village also has Restaurante El Coral, Restaurante Villa Ensueño, El Bucanero bar, Hotel Isla Grande and Cabañas Jackson with a small grocery (OpenStreetMap), and Restaurante Bostonian on the mainland shore opposite at La Guaira. No menus, prices or hours verified: ask ashore. A May 2024 cruiser saw a small hotel and a couple of restaurants from the anchorage (Lowcool). Security: a catamaran anchored off Isla Grande was boarded at about 10 pm in August 2013 (the intruder fled), and the skipper recommended anchoring at Isla Linton instead; anchor with other boats, lock up at night and lift the dinghy.
