Linton Bay Clearance (Port Authority, Immigration & Customs)

9° 36.9′ N · 79° 34.8′ W

The simplest place to complete full Panama clearance on the Caribbean side before or after the San Blas: Port Authority, Immigration and Customs all sit in one building at the Linton Bay Marina entrance.

Practical

Coordinate: Linton Bay Marina (Noonsite). Full clearance on weekdays 8 am–4 pm; closed at weekends, with an extra $20 charge on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays (Noonsite, March 2026). All fees in cash; some English spoken. A Panama cruising permit can be obtained here through an agent: about $75 agent fee, roughly a week's turnaround, but you may depart with the stamped receipt and the final authorisation is emailed in about 8 days (verify locally). An older Noonsite notice listed $12 for an exit zarpe and $193 for the cruising permit. Older routine suggested by Noonsite: cruising permit at Linton, then bus (under $2) or taxi to Portobelo, half an hour, for Immigration stamps, then sail about 8 hours to the San Blas. General assistance: staff@lintonbaymarina.com.
