Trinity Caves (West Bay)
19° 21.9′ N · 81° 24.4′ W
A maze of deep sand channels and swim-throughs cutting through the reef off West Bay, opening onto the wall - one of Grand Cayman's classic canyon dives.
Practical
Position is the DoE public mooring 'Trinity Caves' (2023 GPX); Virgintino lists the mooring at 50 ft. The Kittiwake wreck mooring is about 600 m south-east. West-side site: good in normal easterly trades, untenable in northers. Marine Park rules apply: use the DoE public mooring (free; white 18- or 24-inch buoy with a yellow stripe and yellow pick-up line; 18-inch for vessels up to 60 ft, 24-inch up to 100 ft; not in 25 knots or more; 3 hours or less; never leave the boat unattended - DoE brochure 2021), never anchor on coral, no take in Marine Parks.
