Seven Mile Beach (Grand Cayman)

19° 20.4′ N · 81° 23.3′ W · approximate

Grand Cayman's famous west-coast beach running north from George Town into West Bay: soft white sand and calm, clear water in the trade-wind lee. Virgintino notes it is really closer to 5 miles long.

Practical

Coordinate approximate, in the water off the middle of the beach. Day anchoring is constrained by the Marine Park: no anchoring in Marine Reserves except boats of 60 ft or less on sand, no grappling hooks (DoE). Virgintino mentions a white Port Authority can buoy off Seven Mile Beach. Cemetery Reef, a snorkel in about 15 ft with a small mooring 200 yards off the beach, is at its northern end (Virgintino). Hotels line the beach; local buses (vans) run along West Bay Road (CI$2, 2023).
