Practical
Waypoint A16 from the national cruising guide (9°47'16.585"N 75°50'52.932"W). San Bernardo is 43 nm from Cartagena to Tintipán (guide distance table; it also states 47 nm to the islands). The guide recommends approaching from Cartagena between Isla Mangle and Tintipán. Everything except Isla Palma is inside the national park (no anchoring on coral, no collecting, no loud music). Coast Guard station at Coveñas covers San Bernardo; VHF coverage along the coast has gaps. Tourist launches run between the islands and Tolú all day. A charter itinerary overnights at anchor off Tintipán.
