Mayagüez Port of Entry (CBP)

18° 13.4′ N · 67° 13.0′ W

Puerto Rico's third city has a big, protected (if commercial) bay with a CBP office at the seaport. It is where most boats arriving on the west coast complete clearance.

Practical

Waypoint 1 nm W of the #3 and #4 entrance buoys from the Virgintino PR guide (~2015). CBP lists Mayagüez Seaport as a designated inspection site: (787) 831-3340/3368/3369/3370, or (787) 882-3556/76 (airport). First phone your arrival to 1-877-529-6840 or (787) 729-6840 (staffed 8am to midnight, seven days) or report via the CBP ROAM app (see the Puerto Rico ROAM entry). Bay gets a NW winter swell. Excellent reprovisioning city. Stand clear of Tourmaline Reef between Mayagüez and Puerto Real.
