Lemmon Cays Beach Bars (Guna-run)
9° 34.4′ N · 78° 51.2′ W · approximate
Simple palm-thatch bars on the inhabited Lemmon islets where Guna families sell cold beer and soft drinks to boats and backpackers; laid-back, sand-floored and usually without electricity.
Practical
Coordinate approximate: set at the East Lemmon anchorage (Spirit of Argo waypoint); the bars move between islets with the caretaker families. SY Balvenie (2012) found 'a couple' of islets with people camping and lodging ashore and small bars, and a shack bar on Naguarchirdup in the West Lemmons (beer $1.50, 2012, verify locally). Expect small landing or beach-use fees ($1–5 per person) on many islets; carry small bills. Ask permission before landing. Dogs restricted on some islands.
Best for
Sundowners ashore after a reef snorkel
