La Romana's big Jumbo supermarket, a walk from the river, carries a wide range of local and imported food. It is the best provisioning stop on the southeast coast.

Position approx: Supermercado Jumbo as mapped on OpenStreetMap. The Virgintino guide (~2015) notes you may anchor mid-river short of the bridge on the Río Dulce (waypoint 18°24.19N 68°57.25W), but the current is strong, there is no visitor dock and tripper boats are busy in the morning and afternoon. Its advice is not to anchor here unless someone stays aboard; taxi from Casa de Campo instead. La Romana is also where boats at Bayahíbe complete immigration.
