Ghost Mountain (North Wall)
19° 24.1′ N · 81° 23.1′ W
A deep pinnacle off the North Wall west of the main channel, standing out from the drop-off in very clear blue water.
Practical
Position is the DoE public mooring 'Ghost Mountain' (2023 GPX); Virgintino lists the mooring at 75 ft. North-coast sites are diveable only in light easterlies or southerlies; any north swell closes them. Use the North Sound Main Channel to reach them. Marine Park rules apply: use the DoE public mooring (free; white 18- or 24-inch buoy with a yellow stripe and yellow pick-up line; 18-inch for vessels up to 60 ft, 24-inch up to 100 ft; not in 25 knots or more; 3 hours or less; never leave the boat unattended - DoE brochure 2021), never anchor on coral, no take in Marine Parks.
Best for
Deep pinnacle dive on the North Wall
Season
Calm or southerly days; closed by north swell
