Frenchman's Creek & Pigeon Pond Nature Reserve
21° 47.1′ N · 72° 20.4′ W
Provo's largest protected area (5,948 acres) on the remote west coast: mangrove creeks, salt flats, flamingo ponds and a blue hole, plus West Harbour Bluff's Split Rock and Pirate's Cave.
Practical
Superb kayaking and paddleboarding in the wetlands; because it's remote with some crime risk, go with a local water-sports operator. Nature reserve: no fishing or collecting.
Best for
Wild paddling on Provo's west side
