Feria del Mar (Bocas del Toro Sea Fair)
9° 20.4′ N · 82° 14.4′ W · approximate
Bocas Town's annual Sea Fair fills Isla Colón with music, food stalls and visitors each September — timed for Bocas' own dry spell while the rest of Panama is in the rains.
Practical
Also called the Feria Internacional del Mar (Bocas Marine/Sea Fair). Spanish Wikipedia says it falls in a season when most of Panama has rain but Bocas does not, and that it draws visitors from North and South America and Europe. Held on Isla Colón, 13–18 September (Spanish Wikipedia, Bocas del Toro District — confirm dates locally each year). Expect a crowded anchorage and busy water taxis. Other local celebrations: Palo de Mayo dancing in May to honour the Afro-descendant community (Spanish Wikipedia), and New Year's Eve fireworks over the town waterfront, visible from the south anchorage (melonthego 2022).
