Carnaval Holidays (Panama-wide, four days before Ash Wednesday)
9° 20.4′ N · 82° 14.4′ W · approximate
Panama's Carnaval shuts the country down for four days before Ash Wednesday, with parties in Bocas Town and closed government offices.
Practical
Coordinate is the Bocas Town centre. Carnaval is celebrated for four consecutive days before Ash Wednesday (Spanish Wikipedia), so the date moves each year (February or March). Our sources do not describe a Bocas-specific programme. Plan clearance around it: the Port Captain works Monday–Friday 8am–4pm, and weekend or holiday clearance carries an overtime fee (Marina Carenero lists US$20 overtime for consent to depart, so verify locally). Expect full water taxis, busy anchorages and crowds in town.
Best for
Party time; plan clearance around it
