Carti Boat Fuel Station (Gardi Sugdub)

A small fuel station for boats on the Carti islands, beside Carti Sugtupu (Gardi Sugdub) at the end of the road from Panama City: the main place to buy outboard petrol in the western San Blas.

Coordinate from OpenStreetMap ('Gasolinera para botes Marcel', node 14217253771). Products, prices and hours are unpublished: ask ashore, bring jerry cans and cash. Carti Sugtupu also has a health centre, the Guna museum and small shops (OpenStreetMap; Spirit of Argo 2016), and beer was sold from the bank building in the centre of the island in 2016. Anchor off Carti Sugtupu in 12–16 m (thin sand in the shallows) and use the north-side docks. Since June 2024 about 300 families have moved to the new mainland village of Isber Yala, so services may shift.
