Victoria Bay (Airport Anchorage)

20° 58.3′ N · 73° 40.9′ W

An open roadstead off the beach by the airport, slightly less rolly than Matthew Town and the shortest walk to the Customs and Immigration offices.

Practical

noforeignland 20°58.267'N 73°40.913'W; ActiveCaptain 'Airport' anchorage alongside. Anchor in about 7-10 ft on sand. Noonsite (2012): best just SOUTH of the big 'BURIED CABLE' sign (about 20°58.28'N 73°40.78'W) - north of it the bottom is sand over hard coral and anchors would not set. A BTC communications cable about 3 inches thick runs from shore out to deep water (ActiveCaptain obstruction at 20.9709N 73.6841W) - one boat snagged it; rig a trip line. Rolly in typical easterlies. Land on the beach and walk to the offices; dinghies can also go round to the town basin.
