Inagua Customs & Immigration (Matthew Town)

20° 58.0′ N · 73° 40.7′ W

The southern Bahamas' only working port of entry: Customs and Immigration for Inagua Public Dock and Inagua Airport, used by boats arriving from Turks and Caicos, Haiti, Cuba and the Windward Passage.

Practical

Position from noforeignland's 'Inagua Immigration & Customs' listing (near the airport, a 10-minute walk up the road north from the harbour). Bahamas Customs lists Inagua Airport and Inagua Public Dock as ports of entry. Apply and pay for the cruising permit online first via Click2Clear (Pleasure Craft > Create Inbound); officers stamp it in person. Call the Defence Force or the dockmaster on VHF 16 on arrival; only the captain goes ashore. Reported fees (verify): cruising permit USD 300 for 90 days or USD 600 for a year per a 2021-2026 listing; a USD 40 per-vessel cash 'overtime' fee is commonly charged - one crew learned it should apply only when officers come to the boat or after hours; a 2026 listing reports USD 40 immigration plus USD 30 customs when officers attend the dock. Outbound clearance papers were USD 75 cash in a 2025 report, delivered to the dock. Phone listed by noforeignland: +1 242-339-1254. Bring originals of all documents and cash.
