Inagua Springs drinking water (Matthew Town)

20° 57.3′ N · 73° 40.7′ W · approximate

The local bottled-water plant selling 5-gallon jugs - easier than hauling hose water to the boat, since Great Inagua has almost no fresh groundwater.

Practical

Approximate coordinate on the walk south from the government basin toward the grocery store, where a Feb 2025 ActiveCaptain reviewer says you will see it on your left; order 5-gallon jugs by phone at 242-339-1420 (2025 review). The same review says the marina provides water, but the dock listing reports no water at the docks, and a 2019 review found the hose water 'okay' - drink the bottled water. German Wikivoyage notes the island has practically no drinking-water reserves and little rain, so water is landed by ship and delivered by tanker truck. Cash only.
