Salt Pond Public Dock (port of entry)

23° 20.5′ N · 75° 7.4′ W · approximate

The concrete government dock at Salt Pond, where the mail boat and the Sheep Runner ferry call, listed by Bahamas Customs as a Long Island port of entry.

Practical

Position is approximate: the OpenStreetMap Sheep Runner ferry terminal on the Salt Pond waterfront, which is the government-dock area. Customs lists Salt Pond Public Dock as a port of entry; Wikivoyage says clearance is on request, and officers come from Stella Maris, so arrange ahead (noforeignland: book by WhatsApp; fees mostly online via Click2Clear). Cruisers do not recommend tying a dinghy to this high concrete dock; it is busy with commercial fishing trawlers. Trash and used engine oil can be left at the government dock.
