Little Inagua South-West Anchorage

21° 26.4′ N · 73° 3.3′ W

A coral-studded lee off the south-west of uninhabited Little Inagua, a national park island of wild donkeys, goats, nesting turtles and seabirds - one of the most remote anchorages in the Bahamas.

Practical

noforeignland 21°26.390'N 73°03.253'W, good from NE; ActiveCaptain 'Little Inagua West' nearby (21.4412N 73.0535W). Approach from the west and watch depths climb fast; numerous coral heads require visual piloting in good light. Excellent holding in sand among the heads; decent protection in typical easterlies but can be rolly (one 2023 crew found it calmed after dusk). Beach access and snorkelling; no docks, no services, no fresh water. A reef extends up to a mile off parts of the island. Leave nothing ashore; pets should stay off nesting beaches.
