Statira Shoal (HMS Statira wreck site)
20° 55.1′ N · 73° 9.2′ W · approximate
The remote shoal off Great Inagua's south-east coast named for the Royal Navy frigate HMS Statira, wrecked on a rock there on 26 February 1815 after the New Orleans campaign.
Practical
Coordinate is the GeoNames point for Statira Shoal (a charted shoal, not a surveyed dive site or a located wreck). Wikipedia notes many treasure ships were lost on Inagua's reefs between 1500 and 1825. An exposed open-ocean shoal with no anchorage - only in flat calm with an experienced crew, and treat it as a reef hazard first. Removing artefacts from historic wrecks is illegal in The Bahamas without a permit.
